The BBK Bundesverband has been advocating for the social security of visual artists throughout Germany since 1971. Our film gathers different voices that talk about the milestones of the last 50 years as well as about the challenges that still need to be solved. It shows why it became crucial for visual artists to come together in a federal association - and, what can be achieved through joint commitment.

The BBK Leipzig is the largest artists' association in Leipzig and the Leipzig region. The association promotes the visual arts in the city and region of Leipzig through its commitment to cultural policy. It campaigns for better working conditions and the preservation of the visual arts heritage and works at the interface between artistic work and social commitment.
Together with the BBK Leipzig, we produced an image film that gives an insight into the intensive work of the association.

Five artists compete against each other to win not only the title The Noise of Germany, but above all the hearts of the listeners. The combatants have shaken the horn of wonder of new music and are trying to win over the audience with excerpts from their favourite pieces.
For the New Music Casting Show initiated by the CRISPR.kollektiv, we produced five video clips integrated into the performance as well as a trailer and a project documentation.

After 25 years of restoration, the Dresden State Art Collections are presenting the completely rebuilt Damascus Room for the first time. The richly decorated reception room is considered a unique example of Syrian decorative art and is to once again become a place of encounter in Dresden.
The documentary, made in close cooperation with the museum, reflects on the history of the Damascus Room and its extensive restoration. The film poses the question of what the presentation of a historical reception room means for a museum of the present.

At the Berufsbildungswerk Leipzig (BBW), young people can try out a profession, prepare for an education or complete an education. The BBW specializes in people with hearing, speech and language or other communication impairments.
For the image film, we accompanied the specialist trainee Katerina Trujillova and the trainee Oliver Beier. They give personal insights into the theoretical and practical training in their specialist areas, into support services and living and leisure activities at BBW Leipzig. The special features of the training become clear and the BBW is presented as an attractive place to learn and live.
For the low-barrier version, we used green screen technology to integrate the sign language interpreter into the video.

In May 1925, at the height of his career, Alban Berg met the married Hanna Fuchs. His love for her, as hopeless as it is pathetic, plunges him into a life crisis. While his bourgeois façade begins to crumble, the artistic side takes on unheard-of blossoms. Obsessed with the idea that Hanna is destined for him, he weaves the longings he has kept secret into the composition of the "Lyric Suite" for string quartet. Berg works like a master cathedral builder, calculating everything down to the smallest detail in order to encode secret messages in the music: The piece is bursting with coded anagrams, quotations and number games. This only becomes known fifty years later with the discovery of his secret letters to Hanna, which went from Vienna to Prague for almost ten years. Among others, Theodor W. Adorno, Alma Mahler and Franz Werfel served as postillions d'amour.
Guided by the desire to experience this music, thought to be completely cerebral, as an insight into the composer's emotional world, as his musical psychogram, "1023" is more than a classical concert: the audience can expect a cross-media collage. Simultaneously with the performance of the "Lyric Suite" by the Schumann Quartet—"one of the very best formations of the current quartet flowering" (SZ)—the video artist Murat Haschu presents his interlinear version of the music on three projection screens. In addition, presenter Rebecca Maria Salentin will introduce the history of the work's creation and recite from Berg's letters beforehand."

Girls and young women with migration or refugee stories are exposed to multiple discrimination (sexism, racism, classism, etc.), which is why they have to struggle with many challenges in a white-dominated society. SISTERS wants to be contact persons and role models, especially in the rural areas of Saxony and as women of colour who are affected themselves. On the one hand, SISTERS organises empowering actions and, on the other hand, works together with educational professionals.
The video presents the racism-critical work of SISTERS in Saxony, discusses successes and challenges and invites you to become active yourself: SISTERS* presentation film

For the exhibition of the material-based cooperation project mtrl in the Werkschauhalle of the Leipzig Baumwollspinnerei, an exhibition film was created in spring 2021.
In the joint exhibition, the artists from Düsseldorf, Cologne and Leipzig involved in the project relate their sculptural positions, which were developed from different approaches to action. The exhibition examines which interests the individual artists have in certain, often found materials, which strategies they use, and whether attributions such as collage, assemblage, bricolage, or accumulation apply. The spectrum of materialities shown includes mycelium organisms as well as everyday, building, or industrial materials, movement, light, and sound.

A utopia - what does it actually look like? How can it be imagined, experienced or tested?
For six days, the grassroots-organised congress worked on drafts for a social-ecological utopia. Due to the Corona pandemic, the congress took place mainly online. Besides panel discussions, there was a broad art and cultural programme that creatively asked questions about a just, ecological and feasible future.
We accompanied the congress in its various facets on all days and produced a short documentary, a video for the fundraising campaign and various social media clips.

Under the guiding principle of Open Factory, the Internationale Bauausstellung (IBA) Thueringen is developing the Eiermannbau in Apolda into a place for many and many things. Through innovative reuse and reinterpretation, the icon of industrial modernism is to be brought back into the public consciousness, the potential of the district town of Weimarer Land is to be strengthened, and added value is to be generated beyond the town of Apolda.
For the kick-off of the Open Factory 2020, we realized a film that presents the site as a future working and creative place with workshops, studios, offices, businesses and productive open spaces.

In the Berufsbildungswerk, young people can try out a profession, prepare for an apprenticeship or complete an apprenticeship. The BBW specialises in people with hearing, speech and language or other communication impairments.
11 different training areas are portrayed in short videos. In each clip, trainees give very personal insights into their field and the special features of training at BBW become clear. The films were partly made with the involvement of the trainees. This gave the young people the opportunity to see themselves as an active and self-confident part of the film. The clips thus leave room for different focal points and yet follow a formal overall concept.

Courageous, committed, value-oriented - the EJS has been training journalists according to these principles since 1995. Today, EJS alumni work for respected newspapers, magazines, online editorial offices, radio stations and TV stations throughout Germany. Many have been awarded journalism prizes. But the 22-month cross-media training at the EJS goes beyond teaching the craft. Teamwork and shared values often form the cornerstone of long-term collaboration.
Together with Richard Marx, we accompanied the 13th-year trainees during their training in Berlin.
